Zerion® FVS-DB
ZERUST® Zerion™ FVS-DB is an advanced corrosion inhibitor engineered to protect aboveground storage tanks, underground storage tanks and buried vessels from corrosion of their external surfaces in contact with sand pads and backfill. ZERUST® Zerion™ FVS-DB effectively mitigates risks associated with water ingress, inactive cathodic protection (CP) systems, moisture and contaminated sand pads. A unique blend of Soluble Corrosion Inhibitors (SCIs) to neutralize contaminants and Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors (VCIs) for airspace protection, ensuring dual-action, proven effectiveness.
ZERUST® Zerion™ FVS-DB is typically diluted in potable water and injected into the sand pad during construction, maintenance, or operation. The custom-engineered solution is constructed based on foundation design, asset condition, contamination level, and sand quality.
Typical Applications
- Out of service tanks
- Newly built tanks
- In-service tanks
- Buried vessels and horizontal tanks
- Pipe casings and buried pipeline sections (VCI injection systems)
Key Advantages
- Cost-effective for large volume sand pads
- Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) provides airspace protection, covering gaps between the sand pad and portions of the soil-side bottom not in contact with the sand.
- Soluble Corrosion Inhibitor (SCI) neutralizes contaminants and corrosive species in sand pads
- Effective on pre-corroded tanks
Operating Summary
- Dissolve ZERUST® Zerion™ FVS-DB thoroughly in water at the recommended concentration and mix well prior to application
- Recommended dosage and application methodology depend on multiple factors.*
