ZERUST® ZerioGuard® 8

ZERUST® ZerioGuard® 8

ZERUST® ZerioGuard® 8 is a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor powder specifically designed to protect pipelines during hydrostatic testing. This critical process verifies structural integrity but often introduces challenges such as corrosion caused by delays, residual water pockets after draining, or the use of low-quality water.

ZerioGuard® 8 helps mitigate these risks by preventing corrosion before it starts, reducing operational delays, minimizing costs, and safeguarding pipeline integrity. By streamlining hydrotesting operations, it supports a more efficient and environmentally* responsible approach to pipeline preservation.

*Consult local environmental regulations to ensure compliance with specific discharge requirements in the local area.

Typical Applications

  • Hydrostatic testing of pipelines, piping circuits
  • Use in facilities requiring environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors.
  • Testing applications in regions with strict disposal regulations (e.g., California).

Key Advantages

  • Corrosion Reduction: Protects assets during hydrostatic testing, especially during downtime between testing and commissioning.
  • Environmental Compliance: Its neutral pH may make the product safer for discharge onto the soil, potentially reducing the need for additional steps to comply with local environmental regulations, subject to proper evaluation.
  • Cost-Effective: Reduces potential repair costs by minimizing corrosion damage.
  • Ease of Use: Water-soluble powder dissolves easily, simplifying application.
  • Operational Efficiency: Helps maintain pipeline integrity, reducing delays and operational risks.
  • Versatility: Suitable for various water qualities and diverse hydrotesting scenarios.

Operating Summary

  • Mix ZerioGuard® 8 thoroughly into water. Concentration depends on length of time the asset will be in contact with the solution, condition of the asset, and quality of the water.**
  • Apply solution to asset as specified in the Scope of Work. A ZERUST® Field Engineer can be assigned to oversee the operation.
  • Dispose of the solution in accordance with local, regional, national, and international regulations as applicable.

**Consult a ZERUST® representative to discuss specific needs.
