Project Summary

ZERUST Integrity Solutions^® supported a corrosion mitigation project for two sections of a terminal pipeline network in Texas, USA. The project focused on preserving the internal surfaces of the pipe sections using a Zerion^® FVS inhibitor solution.

The sections differed in size: one measured 16 inches in outside diameter and 280 feet in length, while the other measured 36 inches in outside diameter and 1,000 feet in length. After reviewing the construction details, the team developed application quantities for each section and delivered the solution through existing injection ports.

Implementation details

ZERUST Integrity Solutions^® prepared Zerion^® FVS with clean potable water and applied the corrosion inhibitor solution to both targeted pipe sections. Application quantities were tailored to the size of each section.

 

Outcome

The field engineer reported that the application was completed successfully with minimal issues. Continued monitoring was recommended to confirm the presence of inhibitor solution in the targeted assets. The field report does not include longer-term corrosion performance results.

This project demonstrates how an inhibitor solution can be applied through existing access points to support pipeline preservation.
